Product is the best fan I ever had installed!
If anyone is looking for a fan that really does a great job, this is the fan to get. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. You won't even know it's there. Very quiet. Highly recommended.

Fan is cheaply made
When I bought new fan I figured a strong brand name would be good to purchase. After it was installed a few days later it started to rattle like crazy. The cheap plastic cover was the first thing I noticed was not user friendly. I found that the fan blades were so flimsy made of cheap plastic that worped. Remember Home Depot is a platform for a new product trial. I can tell this product is just a cheap flimsy box with thin cheap plastic parts. So sorry I didn't buy a different brand from a smaller mom in pop Hardware or online. I would not recommend this to anybody.

Great Bath Fan!
Nutone has great products! We have purchased similar products from this company in the past and have always been completely satisfied. We are currently remodeling an old home and have installed this fan in our new master bath. It is very quiet! Thanks Nutone!

Nice and quiet and relatively easy to install. Only issue is that the grille springs that came with the unit are too short which makes it difficult to install the grille assembly.. Longer springs are available if you contact customer service.

very quiet and effiecnt
This fan works well for our large bathroom. We don't hardly steam up the room any more. It runs very quietly. In fact if the door is closed you wouldn't even know the fan is running until opening the bath door.

Holy cow what a difference!
I replaced an older builder model - which happened to be a NuTone. It has run about 30 minutes every day for 12 years and was still going strong! However, it just wasn't big enough for my master bath. I leave the door open when I shower and the steam was getting into the bedroom. This one not only is SO much stronger, but I honestly thought it wasn't working at first because it is so quiet! I have a dial timer switch, and the switch ticking makes more noise than this fan. Its great! The next time I'm at Home Depot I'm upgrading my guest bath fan to the same model. Wish I had done it years ago! So easy to install!

Great Fan! Quiet and Easy to Install!
We've been using this fan for almost a year now, and it has performed as expected. The install was straight forward with easy-to-understand directions. I did manage to break a part while installing the fan, so I ordered a new one, and it came within a week. It's nice to see a company offer replacement parts that are easy to order and come quickly! Overall, I would definitely recommend this fan. In fact, I may install one in my guest bathroom!

I had to replace a 30 year old fan and wanted a better, stronger fan. Purchased this one from a local-major home repair place. I chose this particular unit because I didn't want another light in the bathroom but wanted more power. Awesome! I can feel air coming out the plug sockets, heat vent, and from under the door when it's on. My mirror never fogs. Easy to install and it's really quiet.

Why do you bend the housing tabs down? Are they to be put between the dry wall and the roof joist?
They are to be placed on the underside of the joist, between the drywall and joist. They are intended to help ensure the fan is at the correct level, so it is not situated outside of the drywall or up in the ceiling/attic.

Templates needed for existing construction
None of the specs give dimensions needed for installing into existing structures. Could use a drywall template. Could also use more specific explanation of where the bottom chassis flanges should be: above or below drywall. None of the illustrations or descriptions detail where these should be after installation: above or below the drywall.
This applies to a new install as well.
I used the cardboard in the box that said do not throw away - it was perforated. I set in in place and traced it full with a sharpie - then cut it out. bottom of the housing should be flush with the surface of ceiling material. Its indicated in the instructions, just have to look closely.

I have to install the QTN130E in a down stairs restroom. Whats the most duct I can use?
the space to vent it is large enough to install an 8 inch to 10 inch duct straight thru
Thank you for your question on the model QTN130E exhaust fan. Using six inch rigid duct work you can run 65 feet straight. You need to reduce that distance by six feet for every elbow installed.
