Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved it! I bought this chime for our restored Victorian and loved it. Painted the box to match the trim. I would like to buy this same chime with silver colored pipes and a woodsy modern mission style box. I will have to have a box made to match house decor. I'm still trying to find out if I can get it with the silver colored pipes. September 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by As expected , products are just cheaply made these days , packing box was not strong enough , product was undamaged upon arrival but box was falling apart March 1, 2015

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the LA70MA door chime. If you have your push button connected to the front screw terminal of the chime, you should either get a 4 or 8 note chime. If you connect the button to the side or rear screw terminal of the chime, you would get a single note. For further information please contact our Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question. If your chime has been installed for several years, one of the more common problems is the buildup of dirt and/or dust that binds and prevents the plungers from moving freely. If this is the case, you may want to carefully remove the plastic caps from the back of the plungers. The plunger and spring assembly will fall out at this point. They can be cleaned with an alcohol based solution (rubbing alcohol) to the point of easily sliding within the power unit. If this does not solve the issue, you may want to call our Technical Support group at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.

LA70MA The door chime push button was replaced with a lighted one during a remodel project. It rings beautifuly, HOWEVER, it rings randomly now, with all notes hitting at once, with no patern or reason, day or night.

The beautiful music, is instead just one loud bonggggg. After doing some research, I looked at the push button wiring. It does not have a diode. Is this the problem? The button is lighted, and if pushed rings the 8 note chimes as it should.

Diode required or not? If not what is the problem? At the button I have one red one white wire. At the unit I have two white and two red wires.

1 red is hooked to the front door, one white to the transformer, and one red, one white hooked up to the common.

Thank you for your consideration. I love the sound of this chime and push it myself just to hear it ring. It is very pleasant and inviting to hear.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model LA70MA door chime. The LA70MA does not require a diode across the push button. It sounds like you may have an intermittent short in the wiring, a problem with a second push button (if one is installed) or the light bulb in the button is drawing too much current. Try removing the light bulb from the push button and see if you still have the problem. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on door chimes. The only possible parts available for your chime would be the original replacement parts. There would not be any shorter tubes available for it.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model LA70MA door chime. The LA70MA needs a minimum of three wires for a single door installation and four wires for a two door installation. The additional wire is to power the chime at all times (not just when the button is pushed). You cannot install this chime without the additional wiring.
