Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not Deliver Bought this fan a few months ago from a reputable retailer. My main criteria was CFM and sound. I am afraid the product failed in both categories. It was tough to install. It took a good 3 hours to install and I had to improvise multiple times. The manual was no help either. Currently, the fan makes a lot of noise and the suction is not even par with my old cheap fan that construction company installed 12 years ago. The fan is supposed to have different speeds. But they all make the same high noise. Can't figure out if works. So far, I had not had any issues with the lights which seems to be a major pain-point for most folks. As of this morning, I noticed that the same retailer is no longer offering this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Replacing light bulbs challenging The installation guide that comes with the range hood depicts the changing of a light bulb as being quite simple. It's not. The pictures show the bulb being changed on a unit that is not installed. Having to attempt to pry out the light assembly from an installed unit is a great challenge. I will have to call Broan-Nu Tone for assistance. The fact that the bulb failed in the first 6 months of use is disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be prepared to change light bulbs often - Light bulbs barely last 2 months so I have to keep spares - No noticeable difference between fan speed 1 to 3 - Barely draws the cooking smoke out - nightmare to clean - Home Depot useless on issues and even have different price on light bulbs. If you take them from the outdoor dpt they are less expensive then the lights department! Would not buy again!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Changing the light bulb is impossible. I, like many others, have found it impossible to remove the cover to replace the light bulb

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Even changing the light bulbs a nightmare As everyone else mentioned, the under panel compartment screws dont align and its painful to think about replacing the light bulbs for which one has to open the lower side. Not even thinking to clean.....

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Read & DO NOT BUY I regret not reading the reviews prior to purchasing this unit. First off, I received the first unit in a carton that appeared to be undamaged.. Opened it and a massive dent in the front corner. No Quality Control? Took it back. Installation of the second unit was abysmal. Poor instructions. You might want to include putting the cover back on for the electrical box before mounting. Putting back on the bottom panel took me full day. Screws do no line up. You would've thought get a couple in and the rest is easy. I still have two screws that I couldn't be bothered to continue try. Very frustrating. Absolute do not recommend anyone buying this, especially if you're not a slouch and plan to install yourself.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What a fan is not supposed to be Very hard installation Noticed upon installation that cleaning would be a nightmare and.. it is ! Just cleaned it, Had to dismount the underside panel, which was the toughest to install in the first place because screw alignment is next to impossible. It was so tough that I decided to re-install using self-tapping screws.

You have to stick a screwdriver between the metal fringed glass and the panel mount and jolt it out.

Can you use water inside for cleaning purpose?

I can see a small lid at the top of the hood. Can you use it for self cleaning? Thanks

    NTM302SS Hood

Can this hood be used as a recirculating hood with no outside vent?
    Asked by: MaineSusan
Thank you for your question on the model NTM302SS range hood. The NTM302SS can be vented with either 6" round or 3¼" X 10" rectangular duct work, but it cannot be installed as non-ducted (recirculating).

If there is no filter then how do you clean it ?

It says there is no filter and people have said it is very hard to clean. Can you please let me know what would be the proper way to clean it ? Thanks
    Asked by: sharri
Thank you for your question on the model NTM302SS range hood. The NTM302SS does not have filters, but it does have a grease collection system that completely comes apart for cleaning. Although working underneath a range hood can be uncomfortable, removing the grease collection system should not be too difficult. The installation instructions for this range hood are available for download from our web site. They include a section on cleaning and maintenance along with pictures on how to take the unit apart. Please contact our Canadian office at 888-882-7626 if you need further assistance.
