Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice, but not loud enough Recently moved into a newly built home with this model doorbell. While it fits the bill as a doorbell, (subtle appearance, pleasant chime) it is very difficult to hear in a number of areas of our open, and not too large home, especially on a different floor, or over normal volume music or TV. Another customer appears to have a similar issue, based on a question in the faq, and there is no ability to adjust the volume. My hearing, and that of my family, is very good, so it's not a hearing issue, but on many occasions in just our two months of living here we have missed visitors and deliveries due to not hearing the bell. We are likely going to need to replace it in the near future. I would not recommend this for a moderate sized home.

Can I use a 24v transformer if I have more than one bell?

    Asked by: Scott
Thank you for your question on the BK120NBWH door chime. All of our chimes operate on 16 volts AC. If you use a 24 volt transformer, you will burn out the chime. If you have multiple chimes you would need to use a 16 volt transformer that is rated for 20 VA (watts) for two chimes or 30 VA (watts) for three chimes.

    BK 120 volume control

Can this door chime volume be adjusted? We cannot find how to do that. We have a 2800 square foot home and cannot hear the doorbell in parts of the house! No hearing problems either!
    Asked by: nkm
Thank you for your question on the model BK120NBWH door chime. The BK120NBWH does not have a volume control. You would need to wire a second chime to your original one or replace the current chime with a chime with a volume control. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.

The spring and plastic tip came off, can this be fixed?

I have tried putting them back in and they will not stay on when I try.
    Asked by: Aaron
Thank you for your question on the model BK120NBWH door chime. There are no repair parts for this chime, you will need to get another chime. If the spring and plastic tip came off of it, you may have a push button that was stuck at some time or another. Before installing a new chime, it would be a good idea to replace the outside push button(s). Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 if you need further assistance.
