Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it...everything about it The fan is quiet, clears moisture from shower in reasonable time, love the humidity sensor and night light!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Shed Light" on this! This is the best NuTone fan that I've ever had! Every night I use the nightlights, we've installed the LED bulbs and it looks like a full moon every night in our house! The humidity sensing fan feature is great and with the timer function (also on the fan) it isn't necessary to go back after the fog has cleared to turn it off. THE BEST!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CFL lighting is not acceptable Most of the features and functions of the unit are great. The CFL lighting is terrible. Light takes too long to achieve full brightness. Would have been much better off using LED. LED is instant on, more like what I am used to with incandescent lighting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from virtually silent This is a good looking and extremely quiet fan. The humidity sensor works very well. The wiring diagrams in the manual are poorly done but I figured it out without having to rewire anything. It's installed in the master bathroom and I will be purchasing another one for the guest bathroom.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Fan. Has some special needs This fan is extremely quiet. It also takes in huge amounts of air to exhaust the bathroom. I will say that the duct work is larger than a normal fan and has to be accounted for. My contractor had never installed one like it before and it took a little longer than usual to get it up and running. You also have to be certain to order a special switch for it. We have just installed it so I can't say how well it will automatically sense humidity but I love it for the quietness alone.

  • Is it possible to start the fan manually ?

There are times when you might want to turn the fan on, even if the humidity hasn't risen, such as to remove chlorine fumes and other similar odors from cleaning supplies. Is there a convenient way to turn the fan on manually, or is it exclusively controlled by the humidity sensor?
    Asked by: Birdie
Although 6 months after the question was asked, my concern was about the chlorine used in the bathroom for cleaning. Since bleach is more frequently used in bathrooms than chlorine, I hope the user of chlorine is NOT combining the 2 products. Chlorine plus bleach can be a very deadly combination.

    Do I need a 6" outside wall vent or can I use a 4"?

    Do I need a 6" outside wall vent or can I use a 4"?
    Asked by: Twin
If you can manage a 6" vent pipe or flex I would recommend it. I'm sure this fan would work with a 4" but it may be louder and I think you'd need a transition.

    Light bulb replacement

Is the light bulb available at a local hardware store (commercial of the shelf), or is it proprietary and must be purchased through NuTone / Broan?
    Asked by: tschwick
Thank you for your question on the model QTXEN110SFLT humidity sensing exhaust fan/fluorescent light/night light. The bulbs required for the QTXEN110SFLT are (2) 18 watt fluorescent bulbs with a GU24 base. These bulbs can normally be found at the big box hardware stores as well as larger lighting stores and on line. They can also be purchased through our Customer Service Department at 888-336-3948.

Can I install NuTone QTXEN110S on the wall vertically rather then horizontally on the ceiling?

    Asked by: Bob
Thank you for your question on the model QTXEN110SFLT humidity sensing exhaust fan/fluorescent light/night light. The QTXEN110SFLT is designed to be installed into a flat ceiling only. It cannot be installed in a wall or a sloped ceiling.

Fan turned on manually and will not turn off.

We turned the fan on manually with a wall switch, had a power outage and when it came back on we can not control the fan with the wall switch - it will not turn off.
    Asked by: lfmama
Thank you for your question. It is a bit difficult to accurately diagnose without being there, however, since the fan appears to have been working properly before this power outage, the assumption would be that there was an electrical "surge" which negatively affected the control assembly in the unit. If you would like to order a replacement control unit, please contact our Customer Service group at 888-336-3948.
