Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderfully quiet!! This fan replaced an older, smaller Nutone bath fan/light. The fan is very quiet when running and keeps the bathroom steam-free. The cfl lights are add very nice light and are economic to run. I would buy this fan again!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Works Great I bought and installed this vent/light three years ago and it's still working great! Very quiet fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for small bathroom Have had this fan installed for a year. It's quiet and works well for our small guest bath. The night light is more than adequate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nce fan, quickly disapattes moisture The NUTONE QTREN080FLT is a good product, it is the "quiet" model and most of the time it is. I am not sure why but occasionally it is louder than normal and after a few seconds to a minute it quiets down. But never less it is so much more quieter than standard exhaust fans which I have experience in other people's bathrooms. One bad item is the light bulb it is a multi-element, more than one bulb with a square base and two prongs as the contact. A little hard to find, not cheap $10-11.00 and a lttle hard to remove since the base receptacle in the unit is just snap in, so use 2 hands one to hold the receptacle and the other to slowly wiggle out the bulb. The bulb lasted exactly 3 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best fan I have ever owned Lighting is perfect, easy install, fan itself works great and can hardly hear it run. Had already replaced bath fans in my other two baths- if I knew then what I know now I would have 2 more like this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good in many different aspects. I purchased this Fan/light Ventilation system to replace the system that quite working. This system is quite and is so much better than the one before. I would highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite with a high exhaust rating to efficiently remove shower humidity in a large master bath. This unit replaced a loud older unit with lower CFM that did not efficiently exhaust the humidity from taking a shower in the master bath. This unit is very quite and quickly removes all of the shower humidity. We also like the two different light brightness selections and found pin type CFL replacements at Home Depot when needed. The two CFL bulbs give a lot of light for cleaning the tub/shower enclosure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't imagine a better choice! Both of my old exhaust fans were all talk and no go; loud and totally inefficient. These are completely silent and no matter how long my shower is the room is completely steam free when I emerge. The additional light is always a bonus since I have no windows in either room. I don't feel I could have purchased a better fan.

  • How do you replace the light bulb on Model QTREN080FLT?

    Asked by: Bob
"Please remove the plastic lens from the grille. The bulb will be exposed and you should be able pull out of the socket. If you can't get it out, the older versions had little clips that held the bulb base in place. You would then have to spread the clip away from the bulb base with a small flat-bladed screw driver. The bulb can then be removed. Please contact our Technical Service department at 888-336-6151 if further assistance is needed. "

Use QTRN (incandescent) grill with the old ballasted model ?

Can you mount the grille/bulb assembly for the QTRN model (with the incandescent light socket) with the housing of the older QTREN model (the one with the ballast and 48W bulb) ? Thansk.
    Asked by: Jay
Thank you for your question. You can replace the existing older grille/lens assembly (42watt) with the current QTREN grille/lens assembly, which uses the more efficient (2) 18 watt, self ballasted bulbs. This part number is S97018274 and is available through our Customer Service department at 888-336-3948 or by visiting the "Shop for Parts" section of our website.

I can not get the flourescent bulb out of the fan. I must have older model

Where are the clips located. Can you send a manual on how to remove the bulb?
    Asked by: Eileen
Thank you for your question on the model QTREN080FLT exhaust fan/light/night light. There were two versions of the QTREN080FLT and they used different bulbs. The newer version uses two 18 watt bulbs and the older version used a single 42 watt bulb. The 18 watt bulbs come out by turning them counterclockwise approximately ½” - ¾” and pulling straight out. The 42 watt bulbs will pull straight out and sometimes these bulbs will be hard to remove. You may want to remove the grille assembly from the ceiling so you can grasp the bulb in one hand and the socket in the other. Please contact our Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for installation instructions.

Fan is getting louder. How and what parts should I replace?

    Asked by: Scooter
Thank you for your question on the model QTREN080FLT exhaust fan/fluorescent light/night light. When a fan gets louder it can be from numerous things such as a build-up of dust on the blower wheel, a problem with the duct work or a problem with the motor itself. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.

So how do I disassemble the grille in the older model?

Do you have instructions for the older model?
    Asked by: Eileen
Thank you for your question on the QTREN080FLT exhaust fan/light/night light. To get to the light bulb, you would use a flat blade screwdriver to pry the lens out of the grille. To completely remove the grille from the ceiling, you would grasp the outside of the grille and pull straight down. The grille should come down approximately two inches. You would then reach around the grille and squeeze the two springs together to release the grille from the unit housing. Unplug the lamp cord from the unit and take it down. For written instructions please contact our Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151.
