Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've had this installed for a few weeks now. Easy install, works as it should, it is definitely cheap plastic for the cover, but the chime sounds good. The white looks crisp on my wall--much better than the old faux wood and brass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great value I needed a replacement doorbell chime for an old model, I looked at many others, but this one looks great, was inexpensive, easy to install, and works just like the old one. Thank you.

  • I'm attaching my video doorbell to this chime. Can I use a 24VAC transformer?

    Asked by: Drew
Thank you for your question. The LA139WH can only support up to 16V AC. A 24V AC transformer would damage the chime. We do not recommend using a 24V AC transformer. For further assistance, contact Technical Support at 888-336-6151.

Thank you for your question on the model LA139WH wired door chime. If the push button would stick, the chime would not continue to ring, but the chime would start humming. You may also smell a slightly hot smell. If this happens you need to disconnect the wire(s) on the “Trans” terminal and replace the door push button.

I have model LA139WH. Is it possible to add a second chime in a different room using the same button on the front door?

    Asked by: MHM
Thank you for your question on door chimes. There is no problem adding a second two note chime to the LA139WH and having them ring off of the same push button. You would need to enlarge the transformer to a 16 volt AC, 30 voltamp (watt) transformer. You would then just parallel the connections from the first chime to the second chime. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 if you need further assistance.

I have ordered the LA139WH and recommended C905 transformer. See comments below.

These were meant to replace my old Westminster 4 long chime system that was purchased at least 20 years ago but has sadly stopped working. That system already has in place a working 18.7 volt junction box transformer that still puts out a measured 19 volts. Can I use this existing transformer with the LA139WH system even though it put out more than 16 volts?
    Asked by: Kent
Thank you for your question on the model LA139WH wired door chime. The LA139WH requires the use of a 16 volt AC transformer. Our 16 volt transformers will normally put out 16 – 17.5 volts AC. We would recommend using the 16 volt transformer with the new chime. Using the old transformer may work well for you, but it is also possible that it will reduce the life expectancy of the unit.
