Rated 2 out of 5 by from It worked great, until it didn't Brand new unit installed in 9/15, over the past month or so, the fan has stopped working completely. When I press the button, it starts, makes a humming noise then stops working. Initially, only the low fan setting would work, or I could use the high setting, but not the light at the same time. Now only the light works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked, until it didn't I bought this model from Lowes late last year. Everything was fine, worked like a champ. Over the last few months, the range hood would start buzzing while everything was turned off. The source of the noise is coming from the circuit board but could not identify the defective component. Checked to ensure the wiring connections were good, but it did not fix the problem. It still randomly starts to buzz (usually when we are asleep). Needless to say, I have unplugged the hood and I will be buying a replacement today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 300 % better than my old one. I am a 76 year old woman and I was able to install it except for help from a neighbor to hang it under the cabinet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Auto Operation Our oven vent was easy to install, I really like the automatic speed on the fan, if select a speed that is not high enough the unit will automatic speed up if the heat build up. It look great, and run quite .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the Better Hoods on the Market Replaced an old Over-the Rang Sears Microwave Oven that Sears could'n t replace parts on and was quite satisfied with the results. The wife was surprised at the auto turn on of the exhaust fan as I didn't tell her about it. It matches perfectly with the other Stainless Steel appliances that we own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would recommend this hood with reservations Overall I am very happy with this hood. It is attractive, quiet and works well. However I would not have purchased it if I had been aware that it has the "Heat Sentry" feature. In the winter time I like to use the oven to cook and help warm the house. Too often the Heat Sentry will turn the exhaust fan on and suck the heat out of the house. There is no override feature to turn it off. I am actually considering removing the hood and purchasing a different one (especially because it will be hitting 0 degrees out tonight)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For the price this product was a great buy. I was persuaded by the sales person than this could be easily installed by one person. So I eagerly took it home and found the instructions somewhat confusing. Since they tried to save on paper they used the same set of instructions for the ducted an non-ducted features. I tried to get it up as best I could but I had to call for some extra set of hands and someone who had done this type of installation before. Now that it I've had it for several months, I am very pleased with the performance for the price. since my kitchen opens to my family room, I was concerned about the noise. It's not too loud.

  • i have a 7" vertical discharge set-up and am wondering about the "damper" referenced in the install directions. What is the purpose of the damper?

and why doesn't the instructions explain how to install one?
    Asked by: ds
In my install the damper was already there, damper is closed when unit is not operating keeping outside air out, opens when fan is turned on to vent fumes and steam outside.

It states the fan automatically increase in speed when there is alot of heat. But does it automatically turn on when there is alot of heat?

    Asked by: PJ
Thank you for your question on the model number WS1530SS range hood. When the fan is not running the heat sentry will automatically turn on the fan at its highest speed when the temperature is above normal. When the temperature goes down, it will turn itself off. The heat sentry should not be used as a way to turn the range hood on. It is a safety feature to protect the internal components of the hood from overheating.

Installed the ws1530SS , fan blade hard to turn manually

    What is the problem.
    Asked by: Sable
Thank you for your question on the model WS1530SS range hood. If the fan blade is hard to turn manually, evidently something has been bent, probably in shipping, and the blade is rubbing on the unit housing. We would recommend returning it to the place of purchase for a replacement.
