Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Quiet Opertion The exhaust fan is extremely quiet for an 80 CFM fan. The integrated light is very helpful for a night light when quest are staying and using the master bedroom and bath. Will upgrade my other master bath with this model. Would recommend this to all wiho are looking to upgrade or install new.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from .8 Sones...what does a 3 Sone fan sound like...airplane taking off? We bought the 80 cfm over the 110 cfm because we wanted a quieter fan. This fan is rated at 0.8 Sones and if that is suppose to be quiet, then I would hate to hear how loud a 3 Sone fan is. Given the Sone rating of this fan, very disappointed. Almost sounds louder then the builder quality fan that this replaced....really dissapointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whisper Quiet I replaced an old bathroom fan, that sounded like a jet taking off with this very quiet unit. We have mistakenly left it on by mistake because of not hearing that it is still on. The only negative comment about this unit is that the "night light option" is useless unless you have a separate wall switch to turn it on. They should have made it so that when the main light is off the night light automatically comes on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very quiet, but pricey... So, so instructions. The unit is very quiet, but at $120 + tax it's pricey. Nutone makes you pay dearly for quiet. Only one bulb can be installed and it's rather dim even with the max 100w equivalent recommended. Installation instructions are only for a ceilings with joists. What if you have a ceiling made of steel 2X3s like I do? Tough luck. I had to invent my own mode of installation including roughing the opening with wood 2X3s and drilling new holes in the fan housing. I recommend this product with the caveats above mentioned.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too noisy. I do not like to hear the fan run much. This fan is noisier than we thought it would be. Next time we will buy a quieter one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice! Fan evacuates moist air; we also like the nightlight feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very attractive THe unit was easy to install even in a replacement situation. It is quiet, bright. I does what I want it to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Self install worked out great I replaced a older bath fan with this product and could not believe the improvement, focusing on mostly the quiet motor. It is whisper quiet and can barely tell when it's on. I want them for all my bathrooms! Install was pretty easy because i was replacing a unit and the demensions were roughly the same.

Can this be installed between joists using brackets?

    Asked by: niver
Feb. 21, 2015 Yes it can, but you will have to use your own configuration and drill a few holes in the housing for screws. I installed 2X3 wood spacers between joists and attached the housing to them with 4 sheetrock screws. It works just fine.

What Model switch do you recommend for this Unit?

    Asked by: Larry
Any standard light switch will do (such as Leviton 15 amp sold by Home Depot). But you will need 3 switches: one for the fan, one for the main light and one for the night light.

FAN RUNS VERY SLOW LOOKS LIKE ABOUT 150-200 RPM

SINCE THE DATE OF INSTALLATION THE FAN NEVER SEEMED TO MOVE ANY AIR. I TOOK THE LIGHT/COVER OFF TURNED THE FAN ON AND WAS SURPRISED HOW SLOW THE MOTOR TURNS THE FAN BLADES. IS THIS NORMAL? HOW FAST SHOULD IT GO? DID I GET A BAD MOTOR? I SPUN THE BLADE BY HAND ABOUT AS FAST AS THE MOTOR DOES. ALSO IT SPINS BUT I WOULD EXPECT IT TO BE MORE FREE.. ie WHEN I TURN THE FAN OFF IT SPINS ABOUT 2-3 TIMES AND STOPS.

Feb. 21, 2015 Make sure that the black plastic Duct Connector-4" (Key No. 2 on instruction sheet) has not been installed upside down. If so, the baffle will not open and won't allow air to pass. This will require removing the entire unit for examination. If that is not the problem,, make sure the entire run of exhaust duct is not clogged or crushed. Repair or replace if necessary.

    replacing light

how do I access the light bulb on QTN model to replace it?
    Asked by: stretch
Using a small flat screwdriver, carefully remove the white plastic lamp lensr from the large plastic grille. Unscrew old bulb and replace with a maximum 100w or 100w equivalent bulb. Snap white plastic lamp lens back in place.
