Is the QT9093WH unit a straightforward replacement for an older Nutone assembly Model No. QT-9093?
My older unit just died (probably motor), so I want to replace with a unit whose fit, form and function are the same as the old unit (QT-9093), without having to do any additional construction work or wiring in my bathroom ceiling.
I just used it to replace a QT9093CH that was purchased in the 80's or 90"s and they are the same unit and the parts could be interchanged as the holes are all in the same place. The one I replaced had the chrome grill and it likewise could be used for the white one this one has. I had to remove the fan and heater to install the unit and saw them side by side with the old ones. I did notice the wiring to the heater fan had two black leads rather than a black and red but the harness one hooks up in the box still has the same four colors on the heater feed the old one had, and that is the part you have to wire up.

Can the fan and heater be on at the same time?
Can the heater and exhaust fan be ON at the same time?
If not,how should the unit be used?
Do you have the heater on when using the shower and then when
the shower has stopped you turn off the heater and turn on the exhaust fan?
Or do you have the exhaust fan on when using the shower and then when the shower has stopped you turn off the fan and turn on the heater?
Use the heater to warm the room, shut it off and then turn on the exhaust fan. The warm water from the shower will keep the room warm. Be sure to let the exhaust fan run long enough to get the humidity out of the room.
