Light went out, cannot remove it.
I am having extreme difficulty removing the bulb from the socket. I even tried to remove the filter and access the bulb this way, but nothing is working. I can't replace the bulb now. Why is it not coming out easily? It will twist to the left and to the right, but both directions seem to tighten it.

I have the same problem but here is how I fix it:
(** first find a way to unplug the power for the unit just to be on the safe side **)
1. Unscrew the 5 screws at the front, then you should be able to take the front (light) panel off.
2. Disconnect the electric cable plug (pretty easy to unplug, just need to use a bit more force)
3. Put in some WD-40 right at the gap between the bulb and the socket , so it will lubricate the screwing area (it's because the oil grease made it stuck)
4. Unscrew it by turning it counter-clockwise. Now you are should be good! I will also unscrew the other bulb, put it in the socket you're replacing (and it should light up) so to make sure the socket is indeed working.

Why does only one side of the light panel now work?
Changed out the light bulbs for a cooler version and now only one side of the light panel now work? We have changed the bulbs several times and removed the light panel to make sure that all of the wiring was still in tact and still connected.

Thank you for your question on the WS130BC. It is possible that one of the light sockets is defective, but please check one thing first. Some of the light bulb manufacturers are shortening the necks of their light bulbs and when they are placed in certain fixtures, the neck isn’t long enough to get to the bottom of the socket. If this is not happening with yours, please contact our Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151

My WS136SS Range hood does not light with Phillips EcoVantage 39w=50w bulbs. Can the orginal bulbs be obtained
It seems that the new energy efficient type halogen bulbs do not work with my Nutone Allure Range Hood model #WS136SS. How can I obtain bulbs that will work and are compatible. I purchased Phillips EcoVantage bulbs from Home Depot which they told me should work but do not. Also tried the reveal bulb and they did not work either. How can I obtain original workable bulbs.

Thank you for your question on the model WS136SS range hood. We have found that some bulb manufacturers are making their bulbs with a shorter neck therefore the bulb is actually not reaching the bottom of the lamp socket. I would look for bulbs that have a longer neck than the bulbs you have been trying to use.

How many screws hold the Damper/Duct Connector
No screws came with this model to install the Connector. I'm using two screws that held the 7" round duct plate. The connector has six predrilled screw holes. Only the center two match holes on the unit. Should I drill more holes or is two sufficient? I don't want leakage or rattling. The instructions are no help. They just say to attach the Damper/Duct Connector. Help please. I'm in the middle of the install.

Thank you for your question on the model WS136SS range hood. You would use the two screws that had the 7” duct plate attached to the hood to attach the 3-1/4” x 10” rectangular damper/duct adapter to the hood. It would be a good idea to use metal duct tape to tape around the damper/duct adapter to seal out possible leaks. can this hood be completely surrounded (covered)by wood?
Asked by: spreadnatter
Thank you for your question on the model WS136SS range hood. This hood can be surrounded by wood when installed between and underneath a cabinet, but it cannot be installed up into a custom hood with wood completely down over the front of the hood. For further assistance, please contact our Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151.
