diameter of the buzzer without he oiled bronze cover
Can this be done? We want to install the push button within the plexi unit # signs for an apartment building. The plexi sign will need to be drilled the diameter of the button. What size would the hole need to be? Can it be done without the bronze plate?
Thank you for your question.
If you are installing just the recessed pushbutton, the hole size is 5/8" in diameter.

There is a loud buzzing noise coming from the main unit. What is causing this noise?
When I opened the cover, there were two loose pieces sitting inside the cover. One was a coil spring and the second piece was a small white plastic cap. Based on the existing spring and cap that was still in place, I assumed the cap and the spring should go on top of the right vertical silver pin. However, that particular pin was very hot. When I attempted to rest the white plastic cap on top of the second (right side pin) vertical silver pin, it started to melt the bottom of the plastic cap. Also, it looks as if the silver vertical pin should be higher up to match the height of the first pin...but it is actually protruding through the bottom of it's holder or cylindrical pin holder. The left side pin is not protruding through the bottom. So two questions: What is causing the buzzing sound and how do I put the spring/white cap back on? I don't see any instruction manual that shows you want the inside should look like.
Thank you for your question on the model BK131LRBZ wired door chime. The buzzing is caused by a push button at the door being stuck. At this point you will need to replace the push button as well as the chime itself.

The Door Chime (Model: BK131LRBZ) Just Stopped Working
What do you believe the problem with the door chime? Why would it just not work after only 2-years in our new construction home. It worked fine, then just stopped.
Thank you for your question on model BK131 wired door chime. From your description we would suspect that the push button may have gotten stuck and burnt out the chime. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.
