  • QTXEN110 is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly as presented Very quiet as promised. It works beautifully in doing what it is designed and intended to do. Be prepared to change your existing duct work in the attic to accomadate the 6" venting required. Very glad I bought it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent and quiet bath exhaust fan I installed 2 of the model QTXEN110, 110 CFM Ventilation Fans. One fan was a replacement in a 100 sq ft bathroom and the QTXEN110 is much quieter than its predecessor. The other was a new installation in a 50 sq ft bathroom. The fans were easy to install, but I had access above from the attic for both installations. The 6" duct helps keep this fan quieter than models using a 4" duct. The main features are simply the fan exchanges the air and clears the moisture, and it is quiet. I highly recommend Nutone fans, and for the size and features I need, this fan is excellent..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did you turn the fan on? I can't hear it! This fan is so quiet that I've had to look at the switch to know if it is even on! The bathroom is 5' x 10' and there hasn't been steam on the mirror at all during a shower. My husband has Krohn's disease so is using the bathroom frequently at night as well as the day. Our old fan would sound like an airplane coming in for a landing and always wake me up. This new fan allows me to sleep like a baby. :-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Highly recommend I was stunned by how quiet this fan is! And the six-inch duct keeps the bathroom mirror clear, too! Can't give 5 stars because the hole I had to cut to get the box into (replacing underpowered unit) had to be cut slightly larger than the grill that covers it. It was quick to finish and paint, but it wasn't as easy as it might have been. Still, highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from overall great product easy to install, I had access in the attic. No sure if and how I would have installed it otherwise. Instructions were easy to follow, both written and pictorial. Extremely quiet and effective. Mirror is clear after the shower, so glad I made this decision.

  • Non-working QTXEN110S-B

Hi, I have two QTXEN110S-B fans which appear to not work (they came with the house and are probably 7 years old). The indicator light on humidity/timer control unit blinks about 9 times, then is solid for a few seconds before blinking again. I tried toggling power on-off-on to the fans, but that doesn't appear to change the behavior. It seems that the unit is getting power, but is it possible the humidity/timer unit isn't working correctly? Thank you
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model QTXEN110S-B humidity sensing exhaust fan. The normal mode is 5-seconds on and off. If it blinks rapidly for 5-seconds and then off, check the sensor connections on the grille and fan housing. If the connections are good, the problem could be in the control assembly or the sensor (which is part of the grille assembly). Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.

I have just had 3 of these fans installed in new construction and they are all very noisy. What can cause this problem?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model QTXEN110 exhaust fan. When installed properly, the QTXEN110 is a very quiet exhaust fan. First make sure that everything up inside the unit housing is tightened securely. Make sure the back draft damper is opening when the fan is turned on. This unit should be installed with six inch, preferably rigid, duct work. The use of flexible duct work, too small of duct work and too long of run of duct work can cause more noise. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.

Fan will not hold a Kleenex on grill when on.

I have 2 QT110 in a large bathroom. One is working fairly well but the other will not hold a Kleenex on grill. I have removed cleaned the blades as well as the grills on both. Motors are running fine. Any ideas? Is there another better fan that will fit in same opening. They are both 12 years old.
    Asked by: Anonymous
If your installation is 12 years old and you feel that the motors are running up to the rated RPM, I would suspect something is amiss in the duct work or the roof/ wall cap. One thing that you may want to check is the "damper" in the cap. Many are spring loaded and if the spring were to rust, etc., the damper may not be opening to the fullest extent that it should. If this seems to be OK, you may want to contact our Technical Support group for additional ideas. They may be reached at 888-336-6151.

Can I use this as a replacement for QT 110N-B

Can I use this as a replacement for QT 110N-B
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model QT110N-B and the QTXEN110 exhaust fans. The QT110N-B should be installed with four inch, preferably rigid duct work. The QTXEN110 requires the use of six inch, preferably rigid duct work for optimum performance. We do not recommend using four inch duct work on the QTXEN110. A better replacement for the QT110N-B would be the RN110. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 if you need further assistance.

How to remove the grille after installation?

What is the best way to remove the grille after the unit has already been installed? I wasn't the person who installed it originally and I want to avoid damaging the unit or my ceiling as much as possible. Thanks.
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model QTXEN110 exhaust fan. You should be able to pull straight down on the grille. It should come down from the ceiling a couple of inches. You would then reach around the grille and squeeze the springs together to completely remove the grille from the ceiling.
