Is it possible to add a duct to this hood?
I currently have this hood, but it recirculates smoke and causes my smoke detector to go off. Is it possible to create a hole to convert this into a duct hood?
Yes, I just purchased it. I don't have duct work, but on the box, it said it could be vented or non-vented.

Can it be mounted rotated 90 degrees?
I have a sloped ceiling where the 24" wide stove is. Cutting a new cabinet at that slope may not be practical. Is it possible to rotate the hood so that it faces to the right of the stove instead of the front, or would that cause problems with performance? Might it also cause problems with bumping into it if mounted 24" above the stove to the bottom of the hood? I read I can mount as low as 18" above the top of the stove burners?
Thank you for your question. The RL6200 Series must be mounted beneath a cabinet. You cannot rotate the hood 90 degrees because it will not operate properly. The range hood must be mounted between 18-24 inches above the cook top.

does this hood have a 5" verticle vent?
I need an under cabinet, white range hood with a 5" verticle vent. does this unit have that?
The RL6230WH is a non ducted hood. We do have the 52000 series hood which has the 5” vertical ducting. The 30” in white is sold as 523001. We appreciate your interest in our Broan-Nutone line of product.

Is the 30" the width all the way across the widest part (as opposed to the narrower part that protrudes from the front)?
We are trying to order a replacement and want to make sure we get the same size that we currently have.
Thank you for your question on the RL6230WH range hood. The 30 inch dimension is the widest part that actually goes under the cabinet.
