Rated 4 out of 5 by Does everything a fan should do. We moved into a house that had no fan in the restroom. The steam on the mirrors was irritating. After the fan was installed I told my friend "the good news is there is no fog on the mirror when I get out of the shower, and the bad news is since there is no fog on the mirror I can see how fat I am-haha. Rated 1 out of 5 by Noisy in the extreme My old exhaust fan vented into the attic, so when I had the roof replaced, I also had a new exhaust fan installed that could vent outside. However, the fan does not seem to vent very well. (After I shower, all mirrors and windows are completely steamed up.) Of more significance, however, is the noise level of the fan. According to the fan's specs, the noise level should be about 3.0 sones, about the noise level of a babbling brook. The noise level of my fan is about that of a garbage disposal. Needless to say, between the inefficiency of the fan and the noise level, I am extremely disappointed. May 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This bathroom exhaust fan will keep the mirror from steaming up. I was looking to upgrade my bathroom exhaust fan to one that was stronger than the minimum requirements. This NuTone 671R exhaust fan was powerful, yet I got it at a good price. I wanted a fan that was strong enough to get rid of any condensation from showers that can lead to mildew & mold and one that would keep the mirror in the bathroom from steaming up. To me the one sign that the fan is doing the job is how well it does in clearing the steam that fogs up the mirror. Well so far with this fan, the mirror doesn't even steam up at all. March 16, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Two bathroom fans - 1 is great the other not so great! I have 2 bathroom vent fans installed and the one fan is great - very quite, has a timer switch installed that can be programmed for on/off operation and this one is great. The other fan however is very noisy and sounds like a motor boat at times. I had the installer check it but everything appears to be installed properly but I am still not satisfied with the operation of this particular vent fan. February 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 Excellent fan! Replace very LOUD fans in 2 of my bathrooms. These are so quiet and powerful! Will be changing out a 3rd bathroom soon for one of these! February 20, 2013

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 671 exhaust fan. The motor for the 671 is an original replacement part and does not have a capacitor. The 671 is an older, obsolete model and the 671R is a current model. These are different versions and revisions of the same fan and the parts are not interchangeable with each other. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.

    Replacement parts

I brought a 20 year old trailer and had to replace the motor and blower wheel for this model/unit. After a while there is a high pitched sound, any ideas on how to get rid of this? Did I need to do something particular during the installation? The parts came with no instructions so I just replaced the motor and blower wheel on the housing and re-installed....
any help would be much appreciated,
    cheers,

    Will internals fit model 663L / 669L rough-in box?

Have model 663L / 669L fan with light. Want to convert to fan only. This model appears to be almost exact fit dimension-wise. I suppose i could remove light on older model and purchase 671R grille to work at minimum. I was hoping to upgrade fan motor too.

So, do innards of model 671R fit into model 663L / 669L?

Don't want to replace entire unit if possible.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the models 663L and 669L exhaust fan/lights. The insides of the 671R will not work in the 663L or 669L housing. The motors for the 663L and 669L are no longer available and there are no substitutions for them. You will need to completely remove the current unit from the ceiling and install a new model.
