  • Your chime is a unique statement of your personality. Flush-mount white louvered grille chime cover lies flat to the wall with an unassuming presence because it can be painted to match your wall. NuTone specialty chimes bring versatility and style to your home.

    • White louvered grille cover has a rectangular shape and can be painted to match your décor so it is heard – not seen (wall cutout is 5-3/8w x 7-1/8h; housing is 2-3/4”)
    • Eight-note tune for the front door, two-note chime for second door and one single note for third door means you’ll never wonder which door to answer

Thank you for your question on the LA174WH. I'm sorry, but this chime has not been tested for sound levels. This chime does have a volume control and would be the loudest chime in our line, in a compact size.

Thank you for your question on the LA174. I’m sorry, but we do not have a wireless chime that will work with a wired chime. The LA174 does have the option of attaching up to three remote speakers to it. This will allow you to hear the chime in other locations, but those would need to be hard wired to the LA174. With our wireless chimes you can activate several receivers from a single door push button.

Thank you for your question on the LA174WH door chime. The LA174WH has the capability of having up to three external speakers connected to it. If you are connecting only one speaker, you can use an eight ohm speaker. If you are adding two or three speakers, they would need to be either 16 or 25 ohms each.

    replacing an older NuTone chime

I'd like to replace my NuTone KB-10 with this one but it appears there are only two wires attached to my KB-10, whereas the instructions for the LA174WH show three wires (for a single doorbell). Am I missing a common wire, and does it matter?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model KB10 and LA174 door chimes. The LA174 is not a direct replacement for the KB10. While the KB10 does utilize two wires for a single door, the LA174 requires a third (common) wire.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model LA174WH door chime. We suggest using 18 gauge wiring for the proper operation of the door chime. If you have used different wiring in the past with your door chimes and they have worked properly, the LA174WH will probably work fine with that wiring also.
