Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade from contractor grade Great bath fan. Not much modification needed to install in place of contractor grade fan.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Noisy - Cover does not stay up easily I have this in one bathroom and a Panasonic fan on another one. This sounds like a jet fighter compared to the Panasonic. I am in process of removing this cheap fan (placed by contractor) and replacing it with a Panasonic, which is not much more expensive on Amazon. Best that I can say is that it works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product met and beat my expectations The vent fan does everythingI want. My half bath is part of the kitchen area so I needed a fan to quickly move the air out. This fan exhausted the air to my amazement, faster than expected. No need to poison the air with the smell of sulphur or air feshener. Sound level is gentle on the ear. Easy installation. I am very happy with NuTone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quiet Fan Installed easily in my small powder bathroom. Is very quiet. Be careful when installing the grill. Twice the spring slipped from my grip and broke off two of the louvres. This should be noted in the instructions which were NOT included with my unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The ceiling mount bathroom ventilation fan works well When I needed to replace one of the bathroom ventilation fans in my house I immediately knew I wanted a Nutone based on the reputation for quality. It was easy to install and works very well, leaving the bathroom mirror clean and dry after a shower.

  • can this fan replace an existing ceiling fan that vents upward through the roof ?

Does it have to be vented out the side of the house ?
    Asked by: Dianne
Thank you for your question on the model 684NT exhaust fan. The duct work connects to the side of the 684NT, but you can add an elbow in the duct work to vent it out the roof. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.

    Convert grille to light/grille

Can this model get a conversion or replacement cover to add a light to the grille cover.
    Asked by: Jk's_bathroom
Thank you for your question on the 684NT exhaust fan. I’m sorry, but there is no way to convert this unit to an exhaust fan/light. If you need a light in the unit, you would have to completely change this out to another model.

how many feet of duct can u run on the nutone fans

    Asked by: harry
Thank you for your question on the model 684NT exhaust fan. The 684NT can handle up to 23 feet of 4 inch, straight, rigid duct work. You would need to reduce that distance by four feet for every elbow installed.

can & replace the motor with 110CFM motor?

    Asked by: wsk111
Thank you for your question on the model 684NT exhaust fan. The only parts available for the 684NT would be the original replacement parts. If you need a 110 CFM fan, you would need to completely remove the 684NT from the ceiling and install a different model.

    Housing vibrates and rattles

    Asked by: Lee
Thank you for your question on the model 684NT exhaust fan. First you should make sure the back draft damper is opening when the fan is turned on. Next thing is to check to see if there are any obstructions in the duct work. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.
