One concern is the noise from the LED lights, buzzing and not sure this is normal for LED or a malfunction of the unit we just purchased. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like it, sweated installation Great LED lights, great performance Installation was challenging because vent hole didn't exactly match previous NuTone hood. Also wiring was on the opposite side of vent hole so it required some rewiring. But we're very happy now that it's installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for Internal Venting Fantastic looking hood that moves a ton of air. I was shocked how small the builder grade fan was on our original hood compared to this one. The fan is huge! Easy installation and has been going strong for almost a year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective, Stilish, contemporary, bright LED I personally installed and have enjoyed using the vent hood for about a year now. After struggling to add a duct through the brick wall in my kitchen, installing the range hood was so easy that I only read the instructions to make sure I wasn't missing anything. It has a high CFM fan that removes much of the steam even when I have four pots cooking on high. Ultimately, the value will depend on how long it last. It seems well built so I am not worried. I use all three fan speeds depending on what I am cooking. The highest speed is very effective but it is almost too loud for entertaining. Generally, I use high for just a few minutes just when things start steaming/smoking and reduce the speed to low or medium to finish the cooking and to receive guests. Now, my house does not smell like old grease hours after cooking bacon. The touch controls are fine and easy to keep clean. At first, I did not understand exactly where to touch and it would take a second or third attempt. The LED light is white(ish). Much better than the smoker yellow light from the previous unit. I was surprised to find the light to be more than adequate. Actually, I wish the unit had a lower setting to use as a night light for those late-night refrigerator raids. I think it was a good decision to choose this unit.

  • Can the LED lights be changed in the Nutone AHDA 130SS model and if so where do I find the replacement bulbs?

    Asked by: Gerry
I don't believe so. You'd have to completely disassemble the unit to get to the bulbs. They're LED and should last a long, long time without any maintenance.

My old range hood was 7"tall do you still make one 36 x 7" tall?

    Asked by: Gary
Thank you for your question. We do not have any range hoods that measure 7” in height. The AHDA136WW is 6” in height. For further assistance, you may contact Nutone Technical Support at 888-336-6151.

Is the rectangular damper needed if there is an external damper already at end of the exhaust duct outside?

This is a 2-part question. The AHDA1 comes with a damper-assemply (rectangular adapter) or a 7 in round connector (no damper). My question has to do with conditions where there is no damper, or alternatively conditions where you may wind up double-dampered. So will there be problems if I use the included 10 x 3.25 rectangular damper-assembly to connect with the exhaust duct when there is already an external damper outside built into the exhaust end cap? And for those who are connecting using the included 7 in diameter connector (no damper) will they need to add a damper somewhere in the duct-work if none exists?
    Asked by: OldManMountain
Thank you for your question. The 3 1/4 damper is required if vent outside. If using 7" round duct work, you can use a 7" round in-line damper along with your outside damper. It is normal to have a damper at the unit and a damper outside. For further assistance, contact Technical Support at 888-336-6151.
