Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly for us Descriptions for the Broan-NuTone QTRN080L claim the 100-watt diffused light is adequate to get ready in the morning and the 4-watt nightlight glow perfect for a nighttime visit. I tend to agree except we use other, brighter lights for critical tasks, such as shaving and makeup. More important is the venting is sufficient for taking care of moisture -- and quietly. WE use another in our guest bath for always-on mode. We use this one just for showers and the like. But it works quite well at that.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too much plastic in QTRN080L I have two of these models in our bathrooms. The plastic housing holding the springs have broken in both of the fans! Had to replace one complete housing and now I have another on order. How about some kind of metal replacing the plastic in order to avoid these breaks??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It just works the best! We put one in each of our 1st series of construction. Just added our 3rd one to the addition of the guest bath. Perfect!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid fan, weak cover plate Fan does a good job of exhausting air, but the points that secure the spring-loaded tabs used to remove the cover for cleaning have broken twice. When we pull gently down, the plastic tabs just come off. Very poor engineering on this stress point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I am an electrician and recommend these wherever I can. The important thing to know is that buying these from your big box store is not the same as buying them from your local electrician or HVAC tech. These fans need to be secure but you have to make sure you are not pulling them out of square. If it is noisy, chances are you have a vibration problem stemming from the installation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complete Piece of Junk Paid $170 for this as an upgrade to our $20 low-end fan that came with the house. Well, after having a contractor modify our ceiling to fit this new exhaust fan, it works no better than the cheap $20 starter fan and is just as loud. It is much louder than Nutone claims and 110 cfms I think is an overstatement.

    Replacing an older QT100L with a QTRN110L

Looking for information about how to replace the old unit with the current model. I can only gain access from below. Is replacing the unit possible this way?
    Asked by: Brian Long Island
I was hoping I could just put the QTRN110L blower assembly in the housing from the QT100L. They are not compatible, as the QTRN110L is completely redesigned. The ceiling hole in my ceiling drywall is 9.5" X 11.5" for the old QT100L. The QTRN110L looks to need a 10.5" X 11.375 opening. So I think I could get it in there, from below, but it could be a challenge. I took it back to my electrical supply store, and they have ordered the motor and fan assembly for the QT100L, and I will just replace that portion of the old fan. After about three weeks, it hasn't arrived, so I'm getting concerned it is no longer available.

can you use a CFL bulb? incandescent bulbs are being fased out. we don't have a dimmer so that won't cause a problem (LED bulb previous question )

    Asked by: Otis
Thank you for your question on the model QTRN080L exhaust fan/light/night light. At the present time, the only bulb we can recommend using in the QTRN080L is the bulb listed in the installation instructions. A 100 watt maximum incandescent bulb.

    Replacing a Light Bulb

I followed the instructions of inserting a flat head screwdriver halfway down the long side of the lens to pry it off and replace the bulb, but it will not come free and does not appear at all possible to do without applying a level of force that will break the plastic. Please advise on how to do this.
