Continuous Power Installation
I'd rather not have the batteries installed. I'd rather have the transformer provide constant power. In your installation guide you talk about "New Installation" with constant power or "Replacement Installation of 2 note chime" with battery power.
The 2 different installations look the same on your diagram. What is the issue of replacement installation only being able to accommodate battery constant power instead of just getting constant power from the transformer?
Thank you for your question about installing the LA501CY. In order for the LA501CY to cycle through the 4 or 8 note melodies , the chime must have a constant source of power. One wire from the secondary side of the transformer will be connected to terminal #2. The other side of the secondary side of the transformer is common and is connected to terminal #3.
At the front door pushbutton ,one wire will be connected to the “F” terminal and the other wire at the front door pushbutton will be connected to terminal#3. Please contact our Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further information or assistance.

Are the tubes only decorative ?
We had an older style doorbell (C-500) now damaged, that actually had plungers that struck the tubes to create the chime tones.
As I understand.
The newer ones only have plungers that strike a BAR to create the tones, and the tubes are only decorative.
Can I buy just the solenoid board and tubes to repair the c-500, so it works as new ?
Or is there a current model that I can scrounge the parts from and use them in the c-500
Thank you for your question on the model LA501CY door chime. The LA501CY has plungers that come out and actually strike the long chime tubes, the same way the C500 does. The solenoid board (part number S99521400) and the long tube set (part number S99522069) for the C500 are both available through our Customer Service Department at 888-336-3948.

Where can I find the parts numbers?
Where can I find a detailed listing of all the parts for the assembly/solenoid and the pipes for the LA501CY? Could not find them in the parts book.
