Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great. Can dim on the switch or through your hub! I used this to connect to my Vera Edge hub. It was pretty easy, although required some guesswork as the instructions in the box give no guidance as to how you connect to your hub. There is just one multi-task button and it was not clear if you push, long push or push multiple times to join. Turns out you just push the button while your hub is in a pairing mode (For Vera Edge it is just a generic Z-Wave device). Once paired you give it a name and a room and you can control on/off as well as the dimmer. There are two outlets if that is not clear from pictures and packaging. Only one though is controllable via your hub. This makes sense because the NPD300Z is a fairly large plugin, about 2.5 decks of cards deep from where the prongs are to the front of the unit where the button is and about as wide from side plug to side plug as 1.25 decks of cards. It requires a grounded outlet too but none of the plugs are grounded. One neat feature about this is that the button on the plug itself can control the light. You can use it to turn the light on and off. You can also hold it to adjust the brightness of your lamp. I haven’t messed with it too much and don’t intend to so hopefully I don’t accidentally go into a pairing mode.

  • Can it be used to dim LED light bulbs

I know some Z-Wave dimmers are not compatible with dimming LED lights and the lights cannot be completely turned off. Is the NPD300Z compatible with LED lights?
