  • 690NT is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 64.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Fast Replacment I am amazed at how fast I was able to swap out my existing fan. I took a few minutes to vacuum out the metal box and it cleaned up real nice after all these years. With the new motor and grill it moves more air than the old one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement exhaust fan! I purchased two of these units to replace original units put in when house was built. They run quieter, look better and move about 20% more air than the earlier fans. Installation was basically simple and took about 10 minutes each.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Significantly Quieter Pretty simile to install. Be sure to also install the white plastic air diverted that comes with it, it does make a difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent and very easy Our house was built in 1994 and our bathroom fan was so loud when I saw this replacement fan I figured I would try it. If no good I would send back well to my surprise it was so easy when I was done I check everything to make sure I installed it correct. Very quiet and moves the air better then older fan thank you for making this fan kit for us D.I.Y. people didn't want to have to go in attic and replace the whole unit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed.... still loud We still use the original 15 year old 696 B Unit fan and has always been loud. I finally bought the 690NT Upgrade because it is easy to install and is supposed to be 3 sone instead of 4 sone. I don't believe I can tell any difference in the sound level and will be looking for a better one. NO WAY IS THIS 50% QUIETER as the box says. Also, I had to go back to Home Depot to return the first unit because the holes were drilled incorrectly in the large mounting plate. The replacement was drilled properly and installed easily to the motor. The plastic deflector strip could not be installed either as the directions show.... No tabs in my square box at all. So, I drilled holes in the box for screwing thru the two slotted holes in the plastic strip and mounted them. It still made no difference in sound level either way. I would have been better off buying a completely new style 'quiet' fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is a breeze to assemble and install. Product replaced my model 688 Broan installed 23 years prior. Product is quieter than the old and the price is fair

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Upgrade I purchased this fan upgrade because my bathroom fan became extremely noisey over time. This product was a direct replacement for my current fan and was easily installed with common hand tools. Installation instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. It has been quite some time since the upgrade and I have not had any issues with this product despite the heavy usage(2-3 Hrs per Day).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a wonderful upgrade I purchased the 690NT Fan Upgrade kit to replace ours that started making noise and the instructions and install was very easy. Definitely a do it yourself kit. Fan now is much quieter than the original ever was. So far product is satisfactory and plan on replacing the other fan just for the lower noise level.

  • Can I use this kit instead of Kit C350BN?

I have a Mercury by Nutone C-350C2 B unit can I use this kit to "upgrade' to 60 CFM over the C350BN's 50CFM?
    Asked by: Anonymous
I successfully installed the 690NT upgrade kit into my C-350C2-B. Everything fit perfectly, except my old housing didn't have the tabs to hold the plastic sheet in place, to help direct the airflow.

Will this fit a Mercury by Nutone Scovill 690-696 A Unit?

The box says "Mercury by Nutone Scovill 690 thru 696 A unit. To be used with Mercury 690-696 B units only." However, the B unit says "Village by Nutone. VC-305AND B unit. Use with Village VC-305AND thru VC307C2ND A units only." This B unit fits and works fine in the above A unit. So, it doesn't really matter what the B units says because I'll be removing it. I just want to be sure this kit will fit the Mercury by Nutone Scovill 690 thru 696 A unit.

If the motor is currently working fine for you, you really wouldn't need to replace it. We would recommend contacting Technical Support with parts questions at 888-336-6151. The sone level differences are based on the fact the HVI changed the way they rated sound on all ventilation fans. Our fans did not change, just their rating procedures. So what may have once been 2.0 sones may now be 4.0 sones. Again, we did not change our fans in any way. Thanks for your time.

My current fan that has stopped working is a 690NT-A. Is this is the same as the 690NT as I need to buy a replacement?

    Asked by: Chris1
I bought and installed the nutone 690NT. It was the same model that was previously installed. The new one also has an A after the 690NT as listed on the fan.

What replacement assembly do I order for my bathroom exhaust fan?

Fan quit running. Unit is over 30 years old. Tag says: "695P B unit, use with 690AP A units only. 1.5 amp, 70 CFM". It has a squirrel cage fan. Housing measures 8" x 7-1/4". What should I order? Is there any kind of upgrade available?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for the question on the 695P. I’m sorry, but the motor is no longer available for this unit and there are no replacements. You will need to completely remove the current unit and replace it with another model.
