  • 8664RP is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 68.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy install Direct replacement of the unit I had installed approximately 10 years ago! Same model, so everything went together quickly! These are a little loud but they do move the air! I installed directly over the shower so they see slot of damp air the first one lasted more than ten years hope to get that much from this one. I give them five stars if it were not so loud.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice replacement model for our old Nutone bath fan/light combo Very nice replacement model for our old metal Nutone bath fan/light combo which had rusted out after ten years being in a small enclosed type bathroom in our basement. This one is non metal and the diameter was large enough to cover the existing hole in ceiling drywall. It is more durable and quieter than the builder installed Nutone units from years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from dee17 I had previously owned the light fan combination and liked it very much. It lasted a long time so I replaced it with the same one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too noisy This fan is way too noisy. I contacted the installer. He said that's the way they are. I think it is out of balance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Noisy and poor quality I had this product and died in 4yrs. After i replaced with a new unit, it started creating terrible noise. I have same model in another room, is quite better. I think it is in luck. Spoke to customer service but not helpful. Moving to different product line needs quite a bit ceiling work. It would have better to have a better quality at first. Builder installed this to save little money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought to replace non functioning motor Bought this to replace no longer functioning blower motor. Already had this model installed with round hole in ceiling so had no options. Decided to purchase whole assembly for when other parts wear out not the cheapest option but..... I think I've had to replaced the blower motor in these units at least four times. If I didn't have a round hole in my ceiling I definitely would put in a different product. In my opinion what happens is the squirrel cage fails to stay positioned on the mounting shaft falling down and rubbing on housing causing noise and the need to replace motor assembly. . I'm hoping that this issue will be addressed by manufacturer maybe on this assembly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fan We put this fan in back in 10/2001. It has worked great for over 14 years even with all the powder it sucks up. We clean it and it works just as good. It is a little loud but it does it job. The noise is not a problem.

  • I have a Fan/Light (8663NLDG) and would like to replace the motor and blower wheel because it's getting quite noisy and clunky.

Can I Use the Power Unit Assembly (S97017705) for the 8663RP for my model?
    Asked by: Tina
Have you tried cleaning around the motor and fan wheel? Try taking a vacuum to it. Use that long skinny attachment that comes with most vacs. Menards gave me replacement assembly S97015162, but I don't think it's right. Looking else where

Plastic blower wheel scraping against assembly - loud!

The plastic blower wheel is scraping against assembly - loud! After inspecting the unit, it appears the blower wheel is either become slightly deformed (the wheel spins like a bicycle wheel that is not trued), or the catch on the hole where the wheel stops on the pivot is defective and the wheel is allowed to get too close to the motor and assembly. wrapping some tape on the pivot temporarily prevents the wheel from doing this, but I would like to get a replacement part for my unit - but searched everywhere and cannot locate. Please assist me in locating? Unit is 8663RP "B" Thank you

In re. to NuTone's answer that the replacement part is 5901A000, why does this part number not appear on the list of available replacement parts for this unit on your website?

The fan is blowing into the bathroom.

I was replacing the bulb and when I tested it, I noticed the fan was blowing into the bathroom. Do you have any suggestions on how to correct this?

Check if the flapper valve is operating properly. It sould freely open and stay closed to prevent backdraft from outside.
