Rated 3 out of 5 by Easy to replace This is the same fan already installed in my house, I received the first one, it was easy to remove and reinstall. So I ordered two more for the other bathrooms, the one I installed in the small bath is more noisy than the large baths where the noise level is fine. Shipping to AK was spendy May 1, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Noisy as heck, difficult to remove grille to replace bulb This was installed in 12/2014 in a newly constructed house I purchased. Right away, I noticed this fan is incredibly noisy. If you lightly push on the grille, it will quiet down somewhat. The grill is difficult to remove. Once I did manage to get it removed, I noticed the thin, cheap construction of this fan. It is obviously a contractor grade, no more no less. I've stayed in motels with quieter units than this. I do not recommend it. May 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by 14 years old and still running strong It's a high volume fan. No it's not the quietest but I don't believe it pretends to be. Mine was making a horrible racket and I expected to have to replace the motor fan assembly. However on removing the assembly for inspection the remains of an acorn fell out. I reassembled and that was the end if the noise. It's 14 years old and had an acorn rattling around in it for some time . Somehow it survived and is working like new March 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect! Just put in my 3rd #8663rp in ten years. Apparently earlier models wore out faster than they should have--something slipped down, causing the fan to sound like a WWI fighter airplane. Nutone has ssupposedly fixed the problem with current-production models--we shall see. Anyway, the customer service representative was very helpful. He sent me a FREE a replacement blower/fan right away which took about ten minutes for me to install--not too bad. Excellent customer service, I would say. April 7, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Loud fan Bought a new 8663rp nutone bathroom fan with light assembly because old one was really noisy. After installing new fan it's just as noisy as old fan. Why would this keep happening? Is this product just bad old or new? March 10, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Had 2 of them, stopped working within 3 years These were installed in our new home. They lasted 3 years when they started to make noise and within months they stopped working all together. January 2, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good product! Great product! Clears steam in a timely matter. Its also convenient. Its not too noisy. Good product overall. February 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by This is a very good product. This product has worked well since it was installed. It has good features and a good appearance. The only reason I did not rate it as excellent is that it is not the easiest item to clean when the grills get full of dust, etc. Otherwise, it is very good overall. February 6, 2015

Replacing older model 8663RP with model 8664RP--

    Customer avatar
    by

    Detroit, MI, USA
     on 8664RP
My older model 8663RP with a single light has developed loud, constant rattle sound when on. Originally thought about replacement motor etc, but for a few $ more now thinking about a full fan replacement in the same ceiling opening. I ask if the model 8664RP will fit in the same ceiling opening after removing older 8663RP. The size and specs look identical, but the model 8663RP now has two lights and seems to require two wall switches. I do not want to add a second wall switch and want to have the one existing wall switch to operate both the single light and the fan. So will this model change work for me.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 8664RP exhaust fan/light. The 8663RP and the 8664RP will use the same ceiling opening. The only difference between the two is that the 8663RP has a night light feature where the 8664 does not. There is no problem using a single switch to operate the fan and light together. If you have an attic or crawl space available above the 8663RP, the change out should not be difficult.

Is there a replacement motor for the 741SNNT-A ?

The fan is a 70cfm and 3.5 scones and doesn;t appear to be powerful enough. Is there a replacement motor for that unit that is at least 100 cfm and 3.5 scones without replacing the complete unit?

    Thanks

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 741SNNT exhaust fan/light. The only parts available for use in the 741SNNT housing would be the original replacement parts. If you need a more CFM, you would need to totally remove the 741SNNT from the ceiling and replace it with another model.

    Rectangular version of 8664RP?

    Customer avatar

     on 8664RP
Electrician brought 8664RP and installed it using existing housing, but round grille exposes part of the hole cut in the ceiling (11-3/4 x 13") for the original fan. I need either a new fan with a square or rectangular grille cover that will completely cover the ceiling hole OR just the cover grille for one. It would be nice to be able to just buy the grille and not an entire new fan. thanks for help. (electrician shrugged as if to say, "you wanted a fan, here's a fan." )

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 8664RP exhaust fan/light. The only grille assembly that will work with the 8664RP is the one that comes with it. If the electrician took the insides out of the 8664RP and put them inside the housing of another model, there is nothing we can assist you with. We do have a number of exhaust fan/lights that have a grille that will cover an 11-3/4” x 13” hole, but you would need to completely remove the current unit to install the new model. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 if you need further assistance.

Thank you for your question on the model 667RN and the 8664RP exhaust fan/lights. The only parts designed to work in the 667RN housing would be the original replacement parts. The parts for the 8664RP will not work properly in the 667RN housing. You would need to totally remove the 667RN from the ceiling to install the 8664RP.
