  • Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Attractive design; relatively quiet operation of exhaust fan; decent lighting for our bathroom The only issue I have with this light/fan is the grille assembly. One rarely looks up at the ceiling while taking a shower; one day I did and discovered that the grille was hanging on my only one tab that attaches to to a tension spring. It could have been a disaster if both tabs had given out at the same; it would have caused the glass portion within the grille to break. We discovered that the tab was broken. We can't explain how, because since purchasing and installing, we have not had to change bulbs. And even if we did, the assembly is designed to pull down for easy access to night/bath light. Rated 1 out of 5 by Too noisy, rattles We did a major bathroom remodel a few years ago and the contractor bought this model because it fit in the existing cut out over the shower. Unfortunately, it was a step backward in terms of noise level. The fan is very loud and the glass cover rattles, at times sounding like a machine gun. We've tried foam and other adjustments, but they all prove temporary. The cut-out size is unique, making replacement with another fan difficult. It does do its job though. Wish they made a quieter model. March 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great addition to our home, very bright. product is very nice. Had to do a little more for installation, but was easy. Noticed that the sound was very quiet at first, now it fluctuates to quiet to moderate. Overall, we love it. Thanks NuTone. April 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent product I had no problems with this product. I had it over a year. March 30, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Exhausts Bathroom Steam & Lights Tub Area The only thing that is a problem with the unit is changing the light bulbs. Every time we do this the ceiling gets marred and we have to touch up with paint. There should be an easier way to pull it down for bub changing. March 11, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by After a year the fan has become very noisy! After a year the fan has become very noisy and at times it has needed oil sprayed up onto the motor shaft March 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to install This product e replaced another ceiling fan with the same overall dimensions. It provided the needed ventilation and was easy to install. It has functioned trouble-free since it was installed. I also thought it was a good value. March 10, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Noise, lack of air movement Fan is exceptionally noisy!! Exhibits very little air movement, eg barely moves the smoke from a match held close to the fan inlets. March 10, 2014

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 8664RP exhaust fan/light. The 8664RP does not have a night light feature, it is only a fan and light. The 8663RP would have the exhaust fan/light/night light combination and would use a standard 7 watt night light bulb.

You said previously a 13-1/8" hole must be cut out of drywall for the the grill to sit flush with the ceiling. If the drywall is cut away there is no way to screw the metal plate that surrounds the housing unit/reflector plate to anything at all. The edges of the plate prevent the grille from reaching the ceiling. This metal plate is not even named or referred to in any way in the instructions. Is it an unnecessary part? Why is it even included?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 8664RP exhaust fan/light. The 13-1/8” diameter cut out is correct for the 8664RP. There are three different installation examples in the installation instructions (see figures 2, 3 and 5), and all of them will position the grille so that it is flush with the ceiling. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the 8663RP exhaust fan/light/night light. If you want independent operation of all three functions you will need to run an additional wire and add a switch. It is possible to wire the fan and light together on one switch and the night light on the second switch. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for further assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 8663RP exhaust fan/light/night light. This unit uses an AC motor and it will only turn in one direction. You either have the wrong motor, the back draft damper is stuck shut or there is an obstruction in the duct work. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for assistance.
