Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Fan We put this fan in back in 10/2001. It has worked great for over 14 years even with all the powder it sucks up. We clean it and it works just as good. It is a little loud but it does it job. The noise is not a problem. July 1, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by This was a replacement from our original that was installed 15 years ago It lasted a long time before the fan died and it was much easier to reinstall same size and model. Lighting is good but a bit noisy. The noise doesn't bother me but might want to keep that in mind. Good product that lasts long time.. June 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good fan/light Does the job, good value, and the reputation of Nutone is strong. April 26, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by convient to install Product is easy to install and seems to be built to last. Haven't had long enough for a better reviews. so far happy with the purchase had other Nu Tone products and no problems so I expect this to be the same results. U would not expect anything else from Nutone April 28, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Easy to replace This is the same fan already installed in my house, I received the first one, it was easy to remove and reinstall. So I ordered two more for the other bathrooms, the one I installed in the small bath is more noisy than the large baths where the noise level is fine. Shipping to AK was spendy May 1, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Noisy as heck, difficult to remove grille to replace bulb This was installed in 12/2014 in a newly constructed house I purchased. Right away, I noticed this fan is incredibly noisy. If you lightly push on the grille, it will quiet down somewhat. The grill is difficult to remove. Once I did manage to get it removed, I noticed the thin, cheap construction of this fan. It is obviously a contractor grade, no more no less. I've stayed in motels with quieter units than this. I do not recommend it. May 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by 14 years old and still running strong It's a high volume fan. No it's not the quietest but I don't believe it pretends to be. Mine was making a horrible racket and I expected to have to replace the motor fan assembly. However on removing the assembly for inspection the remains of an acorn fell out. I reassembled and that was the end if the noise. It's 14 years old and had an acorn rattling around in it for some time . Somehow it survived and is working like new March 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect! Just put in my 3rd #8663rp in ten years. Apparently earlier models wore out faster than they should have--something slipped down, causing the fan to sound like a WWI fighter airplane. Nutone has ssupposedly fixed the problem with current-production models--we shall see. Anyway, the customer service representative was very helpful. He sent me a FREE a replacement blower/fan right away which took about ten minutes for me to install--not too bad. Excellent customer service, I would say. April 7, 2015

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 8863NP and 8864RP exhaust fan/lights. If you are going to replace the 8863NP with the 8864RP, you will need to totally remove the 8663NP from the ceiling and install the 8664RP. If you have access from above, an attic or crawl space, the change out should not be too difficult. If you do not have access from above, you would need to cut out more of the ceiling than would normally be necessary and patch the ceiling after the installation is done. In that case, you may want to just replace the defective parts. The available parts can be purchased through the “Shop for Parts” link at the top of our web site page or from the Customer Service Department at 888-336-3948.

Can I replace the 8663 with a 9093WH and use 4 wires if I don't use the night light.

I have a 8663 hooked up with a fan and light. Does the opening of the 8663 (13") match the diameter of the 9093WH Since I have only 4 wires (not five) plus cooper ground. Will the exhaust , light, and heat work if I don't use the night light.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question regarding the 9093WH. The ceiling cut out for the 9093WH is 13-1/4”. You will also have to have a dedicated 20 amp circuit ran for the 9093WH. If you have 3 hot wires going from your switch to the fan, you can eliminate the night light. If you have any further questions regarding the 9093WH, please call Technical Support at 1-888-336-6151.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 8663RP exhaust fan/light/night light. To remove the grille, you would pull straight down on the grille. It should come down from the ceiling approximately two inches. You then reach around the grille and squeeze the butterfly springs together to totally remove it from the ceiling. The installation instructions are available for download from our web site for your convenience.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 8663RP exhaust fan/light/night light. First make sure you have cut a round hole in the ceiling and not a square hole. The 8663RP requires a 13-1/8 inch diameter hole and the bottom of the round part of the unit housing should be flush with the finished side of the ceiling. The grille springs get placed in the slots at the outer edge of the round part of the unit housing. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 if you need further assistance.

Round fan in a square hole

     on 8664RP
I understand that a round hole is supposed to be cut to install the fan's housing, but I'm replacing a fan that has a square hole and I have a plaster ceiling that I really don't want to mess with cutting. Will the fan operate properly if the housing pan is installed under the finished (room) side of the ceiling instead of being flush with the ceiling? There are holes already cut in the ceiling to accommodate the mounting springs and drilling holes in the ceiling for the four screws to go through and into the existing cleats shouldn't be a problem. Thank you.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 8664RP exhaust fan/light. To properly install the 8664RP, it would require a ceiling cut out of 13-1⁄8” inches in diameter. If you mount the unit so the round part of the unit housing is underneath the finished side of the ceiling and you modified the ceiling so the grille springs would fit into the mounting holes, the unit would work properly, but the grille would more than likely not fit tight against the ceiling.
