Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not really The fan is quiet but even with a replacement humidity sensor the humidity function doesn't function. Sadly, I had to disable the function so the fan would not run constantly. Too bad, customer service was helpful and friendly. I also have at least two more I want to buy but it won't Nutone. Great idea for the product if they can get it to work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needs improvement The humidity sensor fan worked great from December to June. Now it turns on randomly. I've tried adjusting the humidity threshold to no avail. So I had to disconnect the sensor and turn on the fan manually. I cannot recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Automatic glitchy I am trying to rewire our fan to manual because the auto feature turns in on sometimes even when the humidity is below 30%. Newtone doesn't have an answer for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from well built and very quiet the timer built in to the unit is a nice feature. I set it for 60 Min. so I don't worry about shutting of the fan before i go to work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work nearly as well as reported I have used it and have tried adjusting the settings for nearly a year. It continues to underperform. It keeps on turning back on, long after the shower has been used and the humidity is gone. The time adjustment seems to be too short or too long of a running time, 10 min or 60 min. But 10 min time running feature will keep on resetting for nearly an hour. The strength of the fan seems unimpressive, cheaper fans seem to work better. I would not recommend a fan with a humidstat sensor, technology has not improved it enough for practical purposes yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from outstanding product I'm glad every time it kicks in. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I recommend it to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works every time This was the best investment we ever made. Never a worry and runs when needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 4 years old and already broken I purchased and installed this item around 4 years ago because at the time it was the only quiet humidity sensing fan on the market. After one summer, I quickly realized how useless the humidity sensor was and basically had to rewire it to bypass this sensor. I'd come home on a hot august day to find my house hot with the AC struggling because the bathroom fan had been running all day long. At other times I'd take a shower and be annoyed that the fan never even kicked on. To top it off, now that spring has come I toggle the switch and find the fan isn't working anymore. Figures it's out of warranty. The replacement motor unity is comparable in price to other quiet fans on the market. I for one will give up the dream of a humidity sensing fan and will replace it all with a quiet fan on a 5/10/15/30 minute selectable timer switch.

  • no matter where I turn the sensitivity switch, min/max, the Fan will turn on and run. I have switch out the grill with the sensor but it did not help

    Asked by: mcmaster
That was my experience. Especially if it's in a room where moist A/C air blows into. Then if it runs long enough it will bring hot humid air in from outside. Then it'll almost run forever on its own. I gave up on the humidity sensor after getting thoroughly annoyed with it. You would hope a company would test the product better before getting folks to invest upwards of $150 specifically for that feature.

    Status indicator

Newly installed unit with 2 pole switch. Both circuits 'on', fan runs and status indicator shows repeating cycle of solid for 3s, followed by blinking rapidly for 1s. Instructions make no mention of this pattern. Wiring appears to be correct. Is this an indicator of any issue?
    Asked by: Fred T
Thank you for your question on the model QTXEN110S humidity sensing fan. The normal mode for the status indicator should be 5-seconds on and off. If it is blinking rapidly you should check the sensor connections on the grille and fan housing. If you need further assistance, please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151.

    Blinking light on fan button

Hi, I have a Nutone Hood Fan & Light combo. (for a stove range) The light keeps bliking on the button which controls the hi & low control. I took out the screen filter insert and cleaned it out. After replacing it still blinks. Is there any re-set button of some sort? Thanks, Bob
    Asked by: Bob
Thank you for your question on range hoods. There should be a reset on the range hood, but we would need to know the model number of the unit to give you specific information. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 888-336-6151 for assistance.
